Muay Thai is one of the most complete striking systems in the world. At 10th Planet Newton you'll build elite cardio, generate power from the ground up, and develop conditioning that transfers to every physical challenge in your life.
Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) originated in Thailand from the older martial art of Muay Boran — "ancient boxing." Muay Boran is an umbrella term for a number of traditional Thai striking styles, and Muay Thai is its modern, sporting evolution.
The main precept of Muay Thai is mastering the eight striking points of the body — fists, elbows, knees, and shins/feet — which is why it's often called "the art of the eight limbs." Every part of your body is a weapon when you know how to use it.
Kickboxing and Muay Thai are actually two different martial arts. Kickboxing, as a contact sport, was developed from karate, Muay Thai, taekwondo, and Western boxing in the 1960s and 1970s.
Both are incredibly effective for fitness and self-defense, and both are on our mats. You won't have to pick a lane — you'll get the full striking education, from Thai-style clinch and elbows all the way through Western boxing footwork and combinations.
Beyond the obvious striking ability — here's what consistent Muay Thai training does to your body and mind.
Fists. Elbows. Knees. Shins. Every part of you becomes a weapon.
