Why Kids Martial Arts

Children need activity to use their energy and grow up healthy and strong — but learning a martial art is so much more than exercise. It starts them on a lifelong path of enjoying physical fitness, building confidence, and learning how to solve problems calmly.

A lack of physical activity is a problem that adults and children face throughout the country, and it's one of the main causes of deteriorating health in our society. Martial arts fixes that — while giving kids a skill they'll carry for life.

No, it won't make them violent.

That's the #1 question parents ask us. The answer is no. Martial arts is used as a last resort. Our core principle — the one we repeat every class — is solving problems through peaceful resolution, backed by the confidence that you could handle the worst if you had to.

We teach skills that improve coordination, flexibility, and strength. All activities are appropriate for each child's level. And every exercise is closely supervised. A chance of injury exists with any form of exercise — but we've organized our classes specifically to keep that chance low.
