What is Jiu-Jitsu?

Use their strength against them.

Jiu-jitsu is the martial art that turns your opponent's own power against them rather than pitting strength against strength. The focus isn't striking — it's controlling, positioning, and grappling your opponent into submission.

It's chess with bodies. It's the one martial art where a smaller, weaker, older athlete can tap a stronger one — because technique, leverage, and timing beat raw force. That's why it became the foundation of modern MMA. That's why we teach it every day.

The Origin

Born from a championship upset.

After his submission victory over the legendary Royler Gracie at the 2003 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships, Eddie Bravo began transitioning away from traditional jiu-jitsu into a modern no-gi system built around creative guards, unorthodox submissions, and real-world effectiveness.

Rubber guard. Lockdown. Twister. A whole vocabulary that didn't exist before Eddie invented it. That system became 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu — and today it's taught at affiliate academies around the world, including ours.
